SCOTT GOLDBERG

President & Founder

Mr. Goldberg has over 24 years of experience in commercial real estate investing, lending and transaction structuring. Mr. Goldberg formed Shem Creek Capital in March 2008 and is a Managing Member of all Shem Creek Capital Funds. Mr. Goldberg oversees and is responsible for all major functions at Shem Creek Capital including decisions related to investments, financing and all day-to-day operations. From 2000 through Q1 2008, Mr. Goldberg was employed by iStar Financial Inc. (NYSE: SFI), a leading publicly traded finance company focused on the commercial real estate industry. During Mr. Goldberg’s tenure at iStar Financial he was involved in various roles in both the investments and capital markets divisions of the company. Prior to joining iStar Financial, Mr. Goldberg worked at Bear, Stearns & Co. in their real estate, gaming and lodging investment banking practice with a focus on M&A and leveraged finance transactions within the real estate and gaming sectors. Mr. Goldberg graduated with high distinction from Emory University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.

THOMAS SOLECKI

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Solecki has over 32 years experience in commercial real estate origination, structuring, closing commercial real estate and corporate loans. Mr. Solecki has been with Shem Creek since its inception in 2008 as an outside advisor. In 2014, Mr. Solecki formalized his role as CFO with Shem Creek and is responsible for managing senior lending relationships and all capital market activities. Mr. Solecki is the founder of Aspen Capital Group, a Mortgage Banking and Advisory Firm which represents commercial real estate and business owners in accessing debt, mezzanine and equity capital. From 1987-1999, Mr. Solecki was employed by Aetna in its real estate investment department most recently as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Structured Finance Department. Prior to Aetna, Mr. Solecki worked at Coopers & Lybrand where he provided accounting and consulting services to their real estate clients. Mr. Solecki has a Master’s Degree in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. Mr. Solecki has also attained the CPA designation.

MATTHEW KING

Director

Mr. King joined Shem Creek Capital in 2017 as an Associate.  Mr. King is responsible for the management and servicing of all Shem Creek investments and is additionally involved in the underwriting and due diligence process for new investments.  Prior to joining Shem Creek Mr. King held a position in the leasing department of Santander Bank, and he started his career at a boutique litigation and real estate law firm located in Boston as a paralegal focusing on real estate transactions.  Mr. King received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Stonehill College.

CONOR TURLEY

Senior Associate

Mr. Turley joined Shem Creek Capital in July 2022 as a Senior Associate.  Prior to joining Shem Creek, Mr. Turley worked on the Production staff at Arbor Realty Trust, where he assisted in the closing of more than $4 billion in multifamily loans across Bridge, CMBS, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and SFR executions.  Mr. Turley assists with the underwriting and origination of new Shem Creek Investments in addition to the servicing and management of Shem Creek’s existing portfolio.  Mr. Turley received Bachelor of Science in Finance from Providence College.

KEVIN OTTATI

Analyst

Mr. Ottati joined Shem Creek Capital in July 2022 as an Analyst. Prior to joining Shem Creek, Mr. Ottati worked at Arbor Realty Trust in the Agency Lending group initiating due diligence and credit analysis on multifamily real estate transactions across the U.S. He started his career at a real estate development firm located in Boston as an analyst focusing on ground-up multifamily development transactions. Mr. Ottati assists with the due diligence and underwriting of new transactions in addition to the servicing and management of Shem Creek’s overall portfolio. Mr. Ottati received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology and a Certificate in Real Estate Finance from Boston University.

THOMAS ROCKETT

Analyst

Mr. Rockett joined Shem Creek Capital in March 2022 as an Analyst.  Prior to joining Shem Creek, Mr. Rockett worked at Arbor Realty Trust in the Agency Lending group initiating due diligence and credit analysis on real estate transactions of various asset types across the U.S.  Mr. Rockett assists with the due diligence and underwriting of new transactions in addition to the servicing and management of Shem Creek’s overall portfolio.  Mr. Rockett received Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston College. 

LEXI URYASE

Analyst

Ms. Uryase joined Shem Creek Capital in August 2022 as an Analyst. Prior to joining Shem Creek, Ms. Uryase worked at Walker & Dunlop in the Servicing department on the Treasury team, processing new loan fundings, monthly cash flow postings, and escrow analyses.  Ms. Uryase assists with due diligence and underwriting of new transactions in addition to the servicing and management of Shem Creek’s overall portfolio. Ms. Uryase received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Furman University.  

KARA SULLIVAN

Office Manager

Ms. Sullivan joined Shem Creek Capital in October 2014, as the company’s Office Manager.  Ms. Sullivan supports company operations, investor relations, bookkeeping, and co-chairs the company’s annual Bob Parsons Memorial charity event.   Prior to joining Shem Creek, Ms. Sullivan was an office manager in a real estate law office, having previously held various sales positions with Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals.   Ms. Sullivan holds an M.B.A. in Business Administration and Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from Nichols College.
